Mint Whiskey Sour

Introduction:

Yet another sour with a fresh minty twist! Resembles a mint julep, just a little more boozy and less sweet.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. bourbon (I liked Maker’s Cask)
  • ¾ oz. lemon
  • ½ oz. mint syrup
Garnish
  • Mint leaf and/or Lemon peel

Preparation:

Mint Simple: I made regular simple (1:1 water:sugar) with a hand full of mint leaves and put stove on simmer for ~10 minutes.

Once cooled, shake all ingredients and pour in a rock filled old fashioned glass.

Notes:

I attempted this drink with regular simple and a shaken with several mint leaves. Less minty and could go well with an egg white and served in a coup. But something about the minty flavor said to serve it with ice. Cool refreshing summer drink.
