Matcha Gin Sour

Introduction:

I’ve really been into sours lately, and this was the originally reason I purchased matcha. The cooler happened to be a fantastic accident, but this is a drink for those who enjoy a little bit more sour, and a lot more booze. I quoted Erin at time of initial concoction “best drink you’ve ever made.” Hope you like it too!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. gin (used Leopold’s)
  • ¾ oz. lemon
  • ½ oz. simple syrup
  • ¼ tsp. matcha powder
  • egg white
Garnish
  • sprinkle of matcha

Preparation:

Shake everything over ice for 8-10 seconds. Remove ice, shake vigorously for another 20 seconds. Pour directly into coup. Sprinkle a tiny bit of matcha for looks and aroma.

Notes:

Better the matcha powder the better the drink. Two different types: culinary and ceremonial. Ceremonial not only tastes better, but yields a lighter green look to it as well.
